Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and performer who began her career with smart raps that addressed gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was via the trumpet. Additionally, she was given Jazz and classical training before becoming a hip-hop teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism and women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing for a time. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. The song My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a viral hit on the Internet and was later featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The latter song was linked directly with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. After a successful career as a singer She decided to take on the role of actor. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a series of notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
